We Have Lift-off!

Its finally happened. We have launched our website. As most design firms acknowledge, doing your own work or in-house projects is one of the hardest things to get right, let alone even complete. We went through several designs, hours of revisions, browser testing and countless trips to get coffee to make sure we got it right. Its taken some time, but we got it up. Simplicity and cleanliness was the goal of our online presence. We wanted to make sure that all potential clients could find out what we do and what we have done fast and easily. We also weren’t concerned with a whole lot of flashiness, we wanted our work to speak for itself. We created a ‘News’ section as well to keep you all informed to what we are working on, our process, design culture, and all things that are Freshrr. We have been fortunate enough to be working with such great clients who appreciate our work and we invite you to enjoy the site, let us know what you think. If you want it Freshrr, we’d love to hear from you!

85 Pages, No Aspirin Needed

Learning the ins and outs of a new web technology is always a challenge. With the implementation of HTML 5 fast approaching, we’ve been wondering how the new specification – a major update to the very foundation of the web – would change how we work, what we do…and what we can do. As avid readers of the webzine A List Apart, we were thrilled to learn that the topic of ALA’s first-ever book release is HTML 5. Although we’re not familiar with the author, Jeremy Keith, just knowing that the book is influenced by the likes of the Zeldman, Santa Maria, Happy Cog crew (and costs only $18 plus shipping) makes it a no-brainer purchase for us.

We were fortunate enough to attend ALA’s An Event Apart conference in Chicago. It was hugely enlightening and greatly influences our work to this day. If you’re a web designer who appreciates simple, concise explanation without all of the jargon, and learn from the many of the great guest speakers, try to attend one of the upcoming An Event Apart conferences. Meanwhile, visit the A Book Apart website and order your copy of HTML5 for Web Designers today.
